ThingFeed — ingestion adapters and data streams

ThingFeed turns source-specific device data into normalized streams that the rest of TrustMint can consume. Its two work areas are Adapters and Data streams.

Adapters

An adapter describes how data enters the platform. It has a name, adapter type, source configuration, status, and an emitted stream. Some adapters are built in and read-only; tenant-created adapters can be removed when they are no longer used.

To create an adapter:

  1. Choose Create adapter.

  2. Enter a name and select the source type.

  3. Supply the source configuration required by that type.

  4. Save and verify the adapter status and emitted stream.

Before deleting an adapter, inspect the emitted stream and its consumers. Removal can interrupt downstream processing.

Data streams

The stream list shows normalized outputs from adapters. Open a stream to inspect:

  • Flow health — current status, last ingest time, and message rate.

  • Normalized schema — field names, data types, units, and examples.

  • Consumers — ThingLogic pipelines and ThingBand sinks that depend on it, plus whether tracing is available.

Use the normalized schema when configuring ThingLogic rules and pipelines. If a stream is unhealthy, inspect its adapter and source before changing downstream logic.

Note

ThingFeed owns ingestion and normalization. Telemetry queries, twins, and device attributes belong to ThingIO.
